Space Ship One reaches great heights: fails to surpass Robert Scoble's Ego

It's pretty freaky how unashamed Bobby Scoble is of 'ego-surfing' [the process of searching for your own name].

On Scoble's link-out blog many of the excerpts have clearly come from his own ego surfing, as evidenced by the hightlighting of the search term ('scoble') in some of the snippets.

Pity the people who share their names with celebrities! Be thankful for your unique name! Don't feel ashamed about highlighting it! If I had a unique name, not shared by anyone else in the world, then by jings I'd highlight it eveywhere I went!

lucky you're not fred savage, the kid out of 'the wonder years'.

one of the trick's to having a unique name (my brother tells me) is to have a cultural discrepancy between first and last name.

Ben Savage is actually Fred Savage's little brother.

I even used to get some of his fan mail a while back. My old work mail used to appear on about page 17 of the google results for Ben Savage.

Weird.

Cultural discrepancy, eh? I'll have to have a think about that.
