Using XMLHttpRequest is so hot right now, that the nifty acronym 'AJAX' has been coined (Asynchronous Javascript And XML).

Personally I take exception to the 'Javascript' term, and prefer the acronym 'EARWAX':

  • ECMAScript
  • Asynchronously
  • Reading &
  • Writing
  • Agile
  • XML

Also checkout EARWAX.Net, I mean Ajax.Net.
