'Agencies are foot fungus' on Wed, 26 Oct 2005 03:08:52 GMT, sez: All agencies in Sydney phone you up fishing for contacts. It's out of control now. I applied for 50 jobs on jobnet with 4 years of .NET experience. Some ads had 8-12 positions yet still couldn't get me a job. One agency actually said I'll send you across (like they all do) and I got the job with 2 interviews!
This other one was classic. Through Profession Recruitment they said they would forward me to BNP. Got no feedback. Interpro called and said we'll put you forward and i'll ask the manager if he's seen you. Interpro get back to me and say NO he's never seen you. I mail Profession Recruitment (not taking phone calls as he is busy...). He emails me back "technology error".
